The back story
Hey there. Mitchell here. I wanted to take the opportunity to explain how I got into this business and paint a picture of our vision!
I absolutely love what I do and that is largely because I love people. I love to meet people, hear their stories, and create something that captures the essence of who you are, be that a wedding video, small business commercial, personal project, and more! I hope that in reading this I can provide you with a snapshot of who I am and why I do what I do.

I grew up in Arlington, Virginia and have been in and around Virginia for my entire life. I went to James Madison University where I studied Media Arts and Design and received a Bachelor of Arts in Digital Video and Cinema along with a minor in theatre. My passion for film began when I was a young boy running around with a handheld camcorder and my friends creating videos that we, at the time, found hilarious. When I realized that was something I could major in, I was ecstatic!

I began shooting weddings with a few friends during my Junior Year of College in 2016 and quickly began to book weddings via word of mouth and my facebook page in 2017. I established Mitchell Downing Media LLC. in January of 2018. Creating wedding videos has been one of the greatest blessings I have ever received. To be a part of one of the most special days of a couple's life and have the opportunity to recreate that memory as accurately and artfully as possible in a video is truly an incomparable experience.

Besides filming and editing videos, I love Jesus, love to sing and lead worship at my church, go on hikes, play basketball, and, of course, meet new people! In August of 2020, I married to the love of my life and we are now the proud parents of two little boys who are bundles of energy and fun.

With my best friend and teammate's support, we have expanded from a videography service, to a videography and photography company servicing weddings, advising and completing corporate projects and strategical marketing films, and tackling unique project requests that come our way because of our ability to create stories that stand out, and we are excited to continue to see what's next! Meet The Team
Mitchell Downing
Mitchell Downing is the founder of Mitchell Downing Media LLC. Mitchell received a Bachelor's degree in Media Arts and Design with a concentration in Digital Video and Cinema in 2017 and has had a passion for filmmaking since he was a teenager. He began filming and photographing weddings as Mitchell Downing Media LLC in 2018, and has gone on to tackle large-scale marketing productions for multi-million dollar corporations, develop vision-centered video plans for local small businesses and non-profits, and start a family! He is the proud father of 2 boys born in 2023 and 2025 and loves to write and produce music in his free time.
The Team
Connor and John have been shooting with me since 2021 and they bring their signature energy and fun to every wedding we shoot. When they're not going to the furthest effort to get the best shots for your wedding day, you can find them doing backflips on your dance floor to liven the night, getting a quick Shirley Temple at the bar for a pick-me-up, or expertly setting up all of our audio and light gear to make sure we capture every aspect of your special day! Once you meet these two non-biological brother-like friends, you'll feel like you've known them your whole life!
